Danube Nature Guides as guests at the 13th International Danube Festival in Ulm/Neu-Ulm 2024
As part of the 13th International Danube Festival organised by the Danube Office Ulm/Neu-Ulm, the Baden-Württemberg Foundation and the Baden-Württemberg State Ministry jointly hosted the event ‘International Danube Talks. The Danube Region after the European Elections 2024: Perspectives for Civil Society’.
On 11 July 2024, the various project partners of Perspektive Donau presented themselves at different tables. During the lunch buffet, guests at the event had the opportunity to find out about the various projects and their current status.
The Danube Nature Guides project is currently in the phase of publishing and printing Danube educational materials. The Romanian edition of the children’s book „Lau lacht wieder“ could already be leafed through at the table on site. The head of the Baden-Württemberg Foundation, Theresia Bauer (pictured here on the left), took the opportunity to get a first impression of the German edition of the children’s book. This is now published by Naturschule Region Bodensee e.V. since 31. of August.
The proud team of Danube Nature Guides presents the Romanian children’s book edition at the project stand: far left the author Gabriela Costea, next to her Martin Pusch, both aquatic ecologists at Leibniz-Institut für Gewässerökologie und Binnenfischerei (IGB), in the centre Gisela Müller, a Danube Nature Guide who will offer ‘Lau-performances’ in her nearby neighbourhood as a mermaid, 2nd from right Sabine Schmidt-Halewicz, project coordinator and board member of Naturschule Region Bodensee e.V., and Jeni Chirila, a Romanian participant in the 2020 kick-off meeting in Romania, who followed the process till now.
The book is available in bookshops at a price of €19.95, ISBN 978-3-95505-491-5
